Can I cancel a match?
Can I cancel a match?
Yes. Cancelling a match keeps the record in your schedule but marks the match as not played, so the slot and any associated data (RSVPs, line-up draft, match content) stay intact. If you want to remove the match entirely, see How do I delete a match? instead.
ℹ️ You can only cancel a match before the Match Timer has been started. Once the timer is running, cancelling isn't possible — you'd need to delete the match instead.
To cancel a match in the Mingle Sport app:
Open the match and go to the Match info tab.
Tap the pencil icon to edit.
Tap the more button (three dots, top right).
Select Cancel match.

Can I notify my team when I cancel a match?
Yes. When you cancel a match, you're asked to fill in a reason and can choose whether to notify your team.
If you choose to notify them, every team member receives an email and/or push notification (depending on their personal notification settings) explaining that the match is cancelled and why.
If you don't notify them, the cancellation still happens but no notifications go out.
The match then shows a visible Cancelled state in the schedule so everyone can see at a glance that it's no longer on.
What's the difference between cancelling and deleting a match?
Cancelling keeps the match in the schedule with a Cancelled state. RSVPs, any line-up you started, and match content stay attached.
Deleting removes the match entirely — it disappears from the schedule and all associated data is lost.
Use cancel when a match is called off (weather, opponent drops out, referee shortage) but you want to preserve the record. Use **delete** when the match shouldn't appear at all — for example if it was scheduled by mistake.
