How do I claim my player profile?

When you join a team where someone already added your name as a player profile, you can claim that profile as your own. Claiming links the profile's existing history — goals, assists, appearances, attendance — to your Mingle Sport account, so nothing is lost when you sign up.

Join the team with the team code

Use the 4-digit team code, invite link, or QR code to join the team. You can do this before creating a Mingle Sport account or right after. When you join as a player — and the team already has player profiles without owners — you'll see a list of those profiles.

If your name is in the list, claim it

When you join a team with existing player profiles, you'll see a prompt like the one below.

Tap Claim player on your name. The player profile and its history — goals, assists, match appearances — are now linked to your Mingle Sport account.

Important: you can't undo a claim yourself. If you claim the wrong player profile, a team admin can unlink it — see What if I claimed the wrong player profile? below.

What if I forgot to claim my player profile when I joined?

It happens — you joined the team without tapping Claim player, so the app created a fresh profile for you instead. If someone also re-added your old name, you may now be listed twice. You have two options:

  • Have an admin remove the unclaimed player profile. A team admin can delete the old profile from the team section in the app or from homebase.mingle.sport. See How can I remove members from my team?.

  • Leave the team and rejoin. This is the better option when the unclaimed profile already has meaningful stats (goals, assists) you want to keep. Leave the team (see How do I leave a team?), then rejoin with the 4-digit team code and claim the profile this time.

What if I claimed the wrong player profile?

You can't undo a claim from your own account, but a team admin can unlink your Mingle Sport account from the wrongly claimed player profile. Once unlinked, both your account and the player profile still exist — only the connection between them is removed, so you're free to claim a different profile instead.

The admin does this on Homebase:

  1. Sign in to homebase.mingle.sport and open the team.

  2. Go to Team > Players.

  3. Click the wrongly claimed player profile.

  4. Select Edit player profile.

  5. Tap the three dots next to the profile owner.

  6. Select Delete link.

Both the account and the player profile remain in place — only the ownership connection is removed. You can now claim a different player profile in the team, or the admin can reassign you to the right one.

How do I claim my child's player profile as a parent?

When you join a team with the invite code, you'll be asked to pick a role. Choose the parent role (you can combine it with other team-support roles if needed) and you'll see a list of player profiles. Tap Claim as parent on your child's name.
